Emotional Marble Memory, a poetry performance, video and sound sculpture exhibited at Blindside gallery in Naarm (Melbourne), 2023. This work studied the history of classical marble sculpture, and the body as kinetic sculpture — a living, breathing subject rather than an object. Troubling how the colonial patriarchal gaze has historically perceived the body and gender as a fixed and inanimate object rather than an animate subject, and how this gaze extends to the living landscape and the extraction of natural resources such as marble.

Video collaboration with Benjamin Thompson, sound installation by Oscar Key Sung.

Blue Lava, a mythopoetic drama performed at Potato Head artist village in Seminyak, Bali alongside Indonesian harpist Maya Hasan at the Merasa Festival. Inspired by feminist sci-fi writer Ursula Le Guin’s essay, The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, Blu Lava locates the container/womb/or in this case the volcanic crater as the greatest symbol in the cultural matrix. Retelling the Hero’s journey through a posthumanist multi-species lens and referencing the phenomenon of blue lava caused by the mining of sulfur at Indonesia’s Kawah Ijen volcano.
